WeNMR within the top of European e-Infrastructure projects

WeNMR has received the highest mark at the final project review meeting in December in Brussels. With that it joins other projects like GEANT in the top of European e-Infrastructure projects.

The reviewers gave an "excellent" assessment to the project stating that it has even "exceeded expectations"!

In particular, they commended the project for its excellent progress in the following areas:

  • Continuous growth in the number of world-wide users, developers and infrastructure providers participating in the project. Over 900 VRC and more than 575 VO members. More than 82K CPU cores, >2M SI2K CPU years and >5M jobs executed.

  • Successful integration of a new experimental technique (SAXS) within the project, including the capability of remote access and control of the experimental facility. 32 NMR and 7 SAXS portals active.

  • Good interaction with the projects EGI, OSG and CHAIN, including the demonstration by the project of grid interoperability with infrastructures in North America, Africa, Latin America and Asia. Eg. With also Chinese tutorials translations.

  • Good interaction with the project ERINA+ to measure project impact. WeNMR achieved high scores in this independent survey.

  • Large number of dissemination events and workshops (134 in total).

  • Runner up price in excellent science @e-Concentration meeting.

  • Contribution of a Single-Sign-On SSOSX module for public use.

  • The high number of scientific publications (37 new in the review period, 92 in total)which acknowledge the contribution of the WeNMR infrastructure.
