A worldwide e-Infrastructure for NMR and structural biology

Evolving EGI workshop, Amsterdam January 29th 2013 - a pay-per-use model?

Currently attending the EGI workshop discussing potential future models for "pay-per-use"...

See: https://indico.egi.eu/indico/conferenceTimeTable.py?confId=1252

Will EGI move to a pay-per-use model? This might have a large impact on our users depending on what will happen in the future. I have seen various numbers, like for example a cost of 0.05 euros / CPU / hours... Considering we computed last year for about 6 millions CPU hours this would translate into a bill of about 300'000 euros...!

Of course we are not yet there... but people are thinking about this and developing models for it.
